Thank you to the dedicated efforts of HPI Member, Mark Poole and Precinct Real Estate, for partnering us with the Heal Foundation Pakistan. Their commitment to implementing tangible and sustainable projects has had a profound and lasting impact on the community of Pakistan. Through their combined efforts, they have achieved success in several crucial projects over the past year with a vision to continue these as long as there is need.
In 2022, the Food Distribution Program provided essential food support for 69 local widows. Beyond providing food support, the program has become a valuable platform for widows to come together every month. The program offers a nurturing environment where the widows can find solace, support, and encouragement in each other’s company. Offering them a change to gather, connect and share experiences. The food distribution program has gained immense popularity among the widows, and its influence is spreading to small villages. The overwhelming response from widows is evident in the numerous calls and requests to join the 2023 Distribution Food Program.
The Toilet Project has bought about significant improvement in sanitation facilities for 40 eligible families. By providing access to proper toilets, this project has not only enhanced health and hygiene, but also created a safe and private environment, significantly improving the overall living conditions of the communities.
Through the Water Hand Pump Project, 10 families have gained access to clean and safe water sources. They no longer must rely on stagnant water in dirty reservoirs or rainwater to meet their basic needs. This project has significantly improved their daily lives and ensured access to a vital resource.
The Free Medical Camps have been a lifeline for the underprivileged population in outreach areas. Offering essential healthcare services, check-ups, and prescribed medicines, at no cost. In 2021, supported by HPI, upwards of 80 individuals participated in the free medical camps. In 2022, thanks to the efforts of HPI and Precinct Real Estate, two camps were made available to those in the outreach communities. These camps have addressed medical needs, provided preventative care, and promoted overall well-being.
The continued efforts and achievements of these projects from Heal Foundation Pakistan volunteers and local volunteers showcase how the power of collective action can bring about a meaningful and long-term change for the lives of individuals and communities in Pakistan.

The Community Toilets and Clean Water Project in Chak No. 172/RB Shajwal, District Faisalabad, has been successfully completed in line with the approved project timeline. This initiative marks a meaningful step forward in improving health, dignity, and daily living conditions for vulnerable families in the community.
Project Achievements
Under this project, HPI and HEAL Foundation Pakistan have delivered:
- Eight Household Toilets — providing families with privacy, dignity, and protection from the risks associated with open defecation.
- Eight Electric Water Motors — ensuring reliable access to water within each home.
- Eight Water Storage Tanks — enabling families to store clean water for drinking, washing, and hygiene.
All construction and installation work was completed by Bhatti Contractor and General Supplies within the agreed contractual period and according to project specifications.
Impact on the Community
This project has brought transformative change to the lives of beneficiary families:
- Improved Sanitation & Dignity: Private toilets have eliminated the need for open defecation, significantly enhancing safety—especially for young girls and women who previously faced harassment and fear when going outside.
- Access to Clean Water: With water motors and storage tanks now installed, families have dependable access to clean water for drinking, laundry, and personal hygiene.
- Better Health & Well‑Being: Reliable sanitation and clean water have contributed to healthier living conditions and reduced exposure to waterborne diseases.
HEAL Foundation Pakistan and the beneficiary families, we extend heartfelt gratitude to all of the supporters and donors who make this project happen.
A special appreciation goes to our dedicated office and field teams. Despite working in temperatures reaching 42°C, they carried out regular follow‑ups, coordinated with community members and contractors, and ensured the project’s smooth and successful completion. Their perseverance and passion were instrumental in bringing this initiative to life.

Over the past quarter, 85 widows received monthly food packages, bringing the total distributed to 255 packages across the period. For women raising families alone and often without reliable income, this regular support is not a small thing. It is a steady hand of care in circumstances that can feel very uncertain.
Both of Heal Foundation’s sewing centres in the region are running well and continuing to offer women a pathway toward greater independence. Skills-based programs like these are among the most sustainable forms of support we can offer, and it is encouraging to see them thriving.
Free Medical Camps Reaching Those in Greatest Need
Two free medical camps were held across two different districts, one in April and one in May, with 22 experienced medical professionals and volunteers attending to more than 550 people. These are communities where unpaved roads, widespread poverty, and the absence of a proper sewage system create a heavy burden of disease. Allergies, hepatitis, diabetes, high blood pressure, and mental health issues are all common. For many families, accessing qualified medical care would otherwise simply not be possible.
The camps offered a genuinely comprehensive range of services. Women received gynaecological consultations, medicines, and ultrasound examinations, many for the first time, addressing health issues they had been quietly carrying for far too long. Physiotherapy services were provided to 58 patients living with physical injuries or disabilities. Across both camps, the care offered was thorough, dignified, and delivered with real expertise.
First Aid Training That Could Save Lives
A First Aid and Safety Training Day was held for 20 participants, delivered by Rescue 1122 Faisalabad Station. Every single participant passed and received a certificate. Equipping community members with these skills creates a ripple effect of preparedness that extends well beyond the training room.
The Emaan Clinic: Serving the Community, Facing Challenges
The Emaan Outpatient Clinic continues to serve patients during its afternoon sessions, operating at approximately $1,500 per month. Established to offer qualified medical care and push back against the very real problem of quackery in underserved communities, the clinic is making a genuine difference. That said, it is facing a serious and ongoing challenge: power outages. Without reliable electricity, the nebuliser machine cannot run, sterilisation equipment is affected, and temperature-sensitive medicines and injections cannot be stored properly. These are not minor inconveniences. They directly affect the quality of care that can be delivered, and the HPI team is working through how best to address this.

In October and November, we were able to fund $18,252, plus $36,900 for a much-needed field vehicle, ensuring we can continue our mission to serve those who need it most. These funds helped us carry out incredible projects:
79 widows received monthly food packages – 158 food packages in total.
Two families had toilets built and water pumps installed, providing them with the basic sanitation they needed.
20 girls graduated from our Sewing Centre, receiving their diplomas and opening doors to a future of opportunity.

9/9/25: Faisalabad (AsiaNews) – The HEAL Foundation Pakistan has organised a free medical camp in Tandlianwala, in the district of Faisalabad, to offer support to families affected by the floods. Vast areas of southern Pakistan, particularly in Punjab, are facing an unprecedented emergency caused by the flooding of the Chenab and Sutlej rivers.
Over 2.1 million people have been forced to evacuate in search of safe places, and 488 relief camps have been set up to accommodate 80,000 displaced persons. In addition, approximately 1.95 million acres of agricultural land have been submerged by water.
The medical camp, set up on 7 September, has provided assistance to 150 patients, who have been given free medical examinations, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, and a large supply of medicines. Local authorities have praised the initiative, describing the camp as ‘well organised’ and promising further collaboration in the future.
Lubna Shahbaz, president of the HEAL Foundation, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to serving people ‘beyond the boundaries of caste, religion, colour or race,’ adding, ‘We work solely for humanitarian aid, and our mission is to serve human beings in need.’
The camp mainly served residents living along the banks of the Ravi River, belonging to different communities, mostly Muslim, but also welcomed several Christian families seeking treatment and medicines. ‘We are proud to be Pakistani and honoured to serve our fellow citizens in their time of need,’ said Ms Shahbaz.
